New England banjo, ca. 1840.  A 33-inch banjo including the brass top finial; the case is mahogany and mahogany veneer with two new repainted glasses and an older dial glass.  There are wooden side arms and some wear to the case and veneer.  The dial holds very old paint but is probably not original to this clock; the hands likely are.  The movement is unwilling to run for more than a couple of minutes and will need cleaning at a minimum.  There is an old pendulum and a lead weight.  $250–$400.
