Waltham Watch Co. “No. 1500” banjo, ca. 1927.  A 41-inch weight-driven banjo in a light-colored walnut case with near-perfect glasses and a clean dial; I believe the wooden finial is original.  Both the dial glass and the dial are slightly convex; this clock looks like it is brand-new.  The 8-day, time-only movement is signed Waltham Watch Co. with the serial number 8714.  Unfortunately, I cannot keep it running and it will need attention.  It is driven by a lead weight and a heavy pendulum bob.  There is a note of previous ownership inside that states that it was bought in 1927.  AAC sold a similar example last summer for $700.  $500–$800.
