219.         $100

Ansonia Clock Co. “Dispatch”, ca. 1883.  A 31-inch black lacquered case in age-appropriate condition, with all the finials and trim pieces.  Note the silvered reeded trim around the door and the silver incisings.  The door glass is as shown in the catalog illustration (Ly, Ansonia Clocks & Watches, page 177) and is likely original with good retention of the silver stencil.  The dial is the original paper, very faded and worn; the hands are likely original.  The 8-day time-and-strike movement is signed and will run briefly and strike; it will need cleaning.  The pendulum bob is original, a standard issue; this clock also came with a fancy star pendulum.  There is a good label on the back. Not a common model, and often seen with missing trim and finials.  $100–$250.
