218.         $200

New Haven Clock Co. “Winnipec Regulator”, ca. 1889.  A relatively small wall clock, 34 inches in length in walnut with an old finish; the six finials are as shown in the catalog illustration on page 154 of Ly, New Haven Clocks & Watches for the 1889 edition (an 1881 version had a smaller dial apron and a decorated door glass). The door glass and two side lights are likely original, as is the painted dial and hands.  There is soiling and fading to the dial.  The signed New Haven 8-day, time-and-strike movement is running without problem.  This must have been a popular wall clock from New Haven, as there are six sales records on LiveAuctioneers, with one matching this example that sold for $225 at Cottone’s in 2021.  This is a nice and very original example with a good label behind plastic on the back.  $200–$400.
