212.         $200

Geo. A. Jones & Co. “Hanging Monogram”, 1864–1873.  Jones also sold clocks to Ansonia so sometimes you see this model with an Ansonia label.  There are only a couple of sales of this model with a Jones label.  The walnut case has a clean finish and is 24 inches long; I believe the finials are incorrect replacements, as they do not match those on previous sales examples.  The door glass is modern, the glossy paper dial a replacement.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is unsigned and dirty but running and striking.  The pendulum is original but the glossy paper center has two decals applied and is not as found in other examples.  There is a good but dark label on the back.  When in better condition this clock retails for $400–$700.  $200–$400.
