204. $650
Chauncey Jerome octagon drop fusee, ca. 1850. A 22-inch rosewood case
with a clean finish and ripple trim around the front edges and two carved ears. The dial glass is old but not likely original,
the lower glass is original. The signed, painted metal dial has been shellacked and is alligatoring. Look at the size
of this movement! It is an 8-day, double-fusee that was built to last; it is signed, running, and striking on a wire gong. There is a door at the bottom with a pull-lever to access the pendulum. No label. This was likely made for export to England. Schmitt Horan sold an identical example last year for $850. $650–$850.
