202. $700
Atkins, Whiting & Co. “Octagon Drop XX” with wagon spring, 1851–1855. A second example of this remarkable clock, again with the Type III wagon spring and the round 30-day movement. The rosewood
veneer is a bit darker but is complete, as is the ripple trim. Both glasses are modern, the lower glass not typical but acceptable. The dial paint is just about gone; AW&Co dials are not known to hold up well. The hands are period and may be original. The movement winds and is running; again, there is no label. There are two original ivory door handles. $700–$1000.
