196.           $350

Ansonia Clock Co. “Santa Fe”, ca. 1904.  A second example of this popular model.  The darkly stained oak case is 52 inches long and has been refinished and restored.  As best I can tell the door and likely the side trim pieces are complete or partial replacements – the incisings are not done professionally. The crest may be original; the door glass is modern.  There is an old label inside on the bottom, and an Ansonia beat scale; the paper dial is old, possibly original, and is signed and has the Ansonia logo.  The hands are correct but modern.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is unsigned but looks like an Ansonia movement; it is very dirty and will not run.  There are two appropriate brass weights and a proper and period pendulum.  This guy needs some work, including on the finish.  These clocks usually sell for $500–$600.
