178. $400
Foster Campos “No. 70 Regulator”, ca. 1979. This contemporary
oak case is just under 31 inches long and is stamped ‘5’ and ‘79’, indicating the inventory number and year made. The dial is
yellowed and it appears that the lacquer coating was accidentally removed to enhance (add?) the signature. The 8-day, time-only
movement is stamped ‘Foster Campos Pembroke Mass’ and is running, driven by a cast iron weight marked ‘70’. There is no label. I can only find one sale of this model by Campos, in 2016 at R.O. Schmitt’s for $750. $400–$600.
