141.           $300

Ansonia Clock Co. “La Verdon”, ca. 1901.  A 14-inch porcelain case in cobalt blue with gilt highlights and a cream background with pink and yellow roses.  Some of the finer gilding is worn off.  There are no chips, cracks, or crazing that I can see.  The dial glass is beveled, the porcelain dial is decorated, signed, and bears the Ansonia logo; the visible escapement has steel pallets, the hands are correct.  The 8-day, time and half-hour strike movement is running strongly.  The clock strikes on a cathedral gong.  $300–$500.
