116.           $150

Waterbury Clock Co. shelf clock, ca. 1880.  This model is not shown in Ly’s two volumes on Waterbury clocks, but is a smaller, spring-driven version of their weight-driven Parlor Clock (shown on page 425 of Ly, Waterbury Clocks & Watches, Vol. 1).   This rosewood-veneered case is 20.5 inches tall with good veneer and an old finish.  Both glasses are old but have been rebacked, and possibly repainted, to match the original design. The metal dial was repainted some time ago, the hands are appropriate.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is unsigned, running and striking on a wire gong.  There is a good label inside.  An attractive shelf clock.  $150–$300.
