Welch, Spring & Co. “Cary, V. P.”, ca. 1880.  A beautiful 20.5-inch polished rosewood case with three original glasses.  I see no damage or missing ornaments.  The painted dial has some chipping and touch-up, with proper Patti hands.  The handnut does not fasten tightly, a common problem with these very small movements.  The 8-day, time-and-strike Patti movement is running but the strike is misbehaving and will need attention. There is a sandwich-glass pendulum.  A label is preserved behind plastic on the back.  Schmitt Horan sold one last spring for $650; it was missing 3 of the four small finials on top.  $500–$750.
