Smith & Goodrich 30-hour steeple fusee, 1847-1852.  A 20-inch sharp gothic with an old and possibly original finish, with plenty of patina.  Both glasses are likely original, with the well-preserved tablet showing “The Ruins of M___ Abbey”.  The dial is original with the Smith & Goodrich signature and some chipping, the hands are appropriate.  The 30-hour time-and-strike fusee movement is running and striking and there is a good label on the backwall.  $150–$250.
