Forestville Manufacturing Co. ripple-front steeple fusee, 1842-1849.  It is unusual to find a ripple-front steeple with a fusee movement, as found here.  The case is 20 inches tall with rosewood veneer, ripple trim, and original spire finials.  Both glasses are old but I believe the tablet has been repainted – and is lovely.  The contoured dial has also probably been repainted and touched up; it has the JC Brown signature at the top and correct period hands.  The 8-day, time-and-strike double-fusee movement is signed Forestville and is running and striking on the wire gong.  There is a good label inside.  AAC sold a similar example in 2022 for $837.  $750–$900.
