Forestville Mfg. Co. miniature 30-hour steeple, 1842-1849.  A 16-inch steeple with two period/original glasses and a well-preserved tablet; good rosewood veneer and finials. There are penciled notes on the back of the tablet.  The dial is original with considerable touch-up.  The hands are period. The 30-hour time-and-strike movement is signed J.C. Brown; it is running and striking.  There is a good label inside.  Miniature steeples from Brown without ripple trim are uncommon.  $100–$250.
