66.              $1200

E.C. Brewster round gothic with remote fusees,ca. 1836.  A second example of this rare and early brass spring movement.  The 18-inch case with mahogany veneer shows some well-done repairs to the veneer, especially along the left side; the dial glass is a modern replacement, the cut and frosted glass tablet is original.  The iron dial has been repainted and the hands are improper replacements; I’m inclined to believe that this iron dial is original to this clock.  The 8-day, time-and-strike, brass, remote double-fusee movement with a rack and snail repeating strike is running and striking; it is not signed but is numbered 4713.  It includes a flat pendulum hanger.  No label but green paper on the back wall.  $1200–$1500.
