61. $500
Elisha Manross double-steeple fusee, 1843-1853. A 23.5-inch case with rosewood veneer on the front and clean, polished finish. The three glasses are old, the dial glass likely
original as is the middle glass, with some touch-up; the lower glass image is too good to be original and must be a replacement. These glasses are appropriate to Manross double steeples; AAC has sold two others with similar glasses. The metal dial may have
been repainted some time ago, the hands are period/original. The strap-brass 8-day time-and-strike movement is unsigned, as
is typical; it is running but the strike is reluctant. There is a good label behind plastic. The two recent AAC sales
of this model were for $607 and $757. $500–$750.
