52.              $50

T.S. Sperry miniature iron-front, ca. 1854. There were numerous ‘Sperrys’ involved in clock sales in New York City in the mid-1800’s; this is Timothy Sheldon.  This is the first clock I have seen with his label; clocks from his brother Henry are most commonly encountered. The iron-front is 14 inches tall with good retention of color and, notably, the painting on the MOP flowers in the middle.  The dial glass is old, the porthole glass newer; the painted dial has been touched up and the hands are appropriate replacements.  The small 30-hour, time-only movement is running with a new pendulum bob.  There is a good label inside.  There are two TS Sperry clocks on LiveAuctioneers and two on the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide.  $50–$125.
