Waterbury Clock Co.(?) “Doric”, ca. 1867. A small (14.5-inch) iron-front with good retention of color and the center pastoral image; note the painted gold highlighting. The paper dial is worn with both glasses replaced; the hands are period. The one-day time-and-strike movement is unsigned, running
and striking on the wire gong. There is no label, so we cannot be sure who made and marketed this clock. It is shown in
Ly’s books on Waterbury clocks, so we’ll go with that. $50–$150.
