33.                   $50

M. Blakesley & Co. 30-hour OG, ca. 1841.  Blakesley (sometimes, Blakeslee) worked with Eli Terry and then Eli Terry Jr as Eli Terry Jr & Co until Terry died of tuberculosis in 1841; he then worked on his own for a while before he went back to farming.  Clocks from this maker are not common.  The 26.5-inch case is veneered in mahogany with some chips; both glasses are original with considerable losses to the tablet.  The wooden dial is badly discolored, the minute hand is a modern replacement.  The brass movement was made by Hiram Welton and is unsigned; it is not strung so I could not test it.  There are two proper weights, a pendulum rod and spring, and a pendulum bob.  The label is dark but legible and with minor losses.  $50–$150.
