Darche Mfg. Co. “Flash Light Electric Alarm, Bank, and Call Clock”, ca. 1910. Here it is, the alarm clock that will guard your valuables, show you the time at night, and wake you up.  The nickel-plated case shows considerable wear and oxidation; it is 12.5 inches wide and 8 inches tall.  On the left top is a coin slot bank above a cabinet with a combination lock (the combination part doesn’t seem to work).  Note that the safe is fire-proof.  The clock in the middle has a clean paper label, the name and location of the company (Chicago, IL), and an alarm dial that you set and wind in the back.  The clock winds and sets in the back as well, I would guess it is a 1-day, but I could be wrong.  There is a light bulb above the dial and a push-button attached to a long cord; you press the button on the handle and the light bulb lights to show you the time.  It is working.  On the right is the alarm bell, and behind the alarm inside is a dry cell battery that powers this modern marvel.  The alarm was not tested, but the clock is running fine.  $75–$150.
