S. Marti & Cie Athena, ca. 1850.  A 27-inch bronze statue of the Greek goddess Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom, on a marble base with a decorative front panel.  The numerals are on porcelain buttons and the hands are brass, and blend into the background of the dial.  The 8-day, pendule de Paris movement is signed, but can’t be coaxed to run; it is fully wound.  An impressive piece that sold for $2400 at Jackson’s International Auctioneers in 2015. $250–$500.
