Elmer Stennes dwarf tall case, ca. 1980? The maple or cherry case is
60 inches tall with the center finial. The finish is clean and unmarred; the number ‘2’ is stamped into the case in several
places, but I did not see a date indication. The metal dial has two small chips and is signed. The time-and-strike movement
was made in Germany and counts the hours with a bim-bam strike on four rods and announces the half-hour with a single bim-bam strike. It is running and striking. There are two large, tarnished brass weights for the pull-up movement. Not fancy, but nice. A similar example sold at Tremont Auctions last year for $700. $500–$750.
