226.         $1200

Foster Campos dwarf tall case, 1993.  The 60-inch mahogany case (with brass finials) is beautiful, with figured mahogany on the front with blond inlay around the base and waist door.  Note the carved fretwork at the top, as with a Roxbury tall case.  There is glass in the dial door and on the sides, the metal dial is painted and signed, and the sailing ship above the dial rocks back and forth with the pendulum.  The 8-day movement has a passing strike and is driven by an 8-lb weight that is not original to the clock; an original weight can be obtained from Bob Hynes if you like. He told me Campos just used the same lead weights he used in banjos, lyres, and girandoles.  The number 5 is stamped into the case below the dial door, with 93 stamped on the right.  This clock last sold at Forsythe’s in 2021 for $1500.  $1200-$1500.
