224.         $500

Modern reproduction Roxbury tall case, ca. 2000?  The case is 88 inches tall with the center finial, stamped made in China on the bottom, and has a mahogany finish with a bird’s eye grain pattern on the door and base; I am not sure what the wood actually is, but it looks very nice.  The dial glass is beveled, the painted dial metal with three hands and a moon dial that rotates.  Despite the signature, I’m pretty sure Aaron Willard didn’t make it. There are three large brass weights to drive the time, strike, and chime trains of the signed Hermle 8-day movement; it strikes on rods, 8 on the right for the chime and four on the left for the hour, and will play Westminster, St. Michael’s, or Whittington chimes on the quarter-hours.  It is running and striking as expected.  An instruction manual is included.  $500-$1000.
