222.         $100

Waterbury Clock Co. “Prescott”, ca. 1891.  A third small wall clock from Waterbury, this one in walnut with an old finish, 30.5-inches tall.  A very simple design; the finials look correct but there should be a picket fence around the base (see Ly, Waterbury Clocks & Watches, Vol. 1, page 197).  The door glass is modern, the side glasses may be earlier.  The painted dial is faded and bears the Waterbury logo; the hands are modern replacements. The 8-day, time-only movement is signed and running aggressively, regulated by a dial-adjusted pendulum, as shown in the catalog illustration. Another uncommon clock, with no sales records on the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide and two on LiveAuctioneers, most recently (2021) for $85 at a small auction house.  $100–$200.
