Waterbury Clock Co. “Cheshire”, ca. 1893. A 43-inch oak case with a
clean polished finish and all the correct finials and doodads. The door glass isn’t that old, the dial has been repainted with
the Waterbury logo; the tarnished brass hands are as shown in the catalog illustration (Ly, Waterbury Clocks & Watches, page 205). The signed 8-day, time-only spring-driven movement is running strongly, regulated by a Waterbury pendulum. There are remnants
of a label on the back. A nice example; three recent sales on LiveAuctioneers, averaging $268. $225–$300.
