F. Kroeber Clock Co. “Regulator No. 32”, ca. 1881. A 34-inch walnut
case with a clean, old finish and an etched door glass. As is sometimes seen with Kroeber clocks, the etched side is to the
outside and the glass is puttied into place. The dial is old glossy paper, unsigned, the hands are as shown in the catalog illustration. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed and running strongly, striking on a brass bell, and regulated by a long single-barrel
pendulum. There is a good label on the back. This is a hard model to find; AAC sold one with a non-etched glass in 2022
for $450. $400–$600.
