Benjamin Morrill New Hampshire mirror clock, ca. 1825. A small mirror clock by a famous maker out of Boscawen, NH, for which this style of clock is named.  The gilded case is 29.5 inches long with good gilding, possibly restored, and re-marbled half-columns between the gilding.  The dial glass is likely original, the dial surround rebacked but probably original as well.  The mirror looks like an old replacement.  The metal dial is likely original to the clock and has been repainted; the hands are likely original.  The wheelbarrow movement is unsigned, as is typical.  I cannot get it to run for more than a minute or two, so attention will be needed.  The weight and pendulum are as found in other examples.  The interior label has been lost.  A good example by this important maker.  Carlson Gallery sold a similar example last year for $2500; Cottone’s sold one in poorer condition in 2018 for $1200.  $1250–$2000.
