179.           $1400

Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Regulator No. 18”, 1891.  A 53.5-inch oak-veneer case with a dark and very old finish.  Both glasses are period, the dial is likely original and very faded, the blued steel hands are correct.  The 8-day time-only movement is correct but unsigned, driven by a No. 2 brass weight, the pendulum stick and heavy brass bob are original as well.  It is running without issue.  There is a beat scale at the bottom and a black label.  Prices for clocks outfitted in brass over the last several years average $1500, including one sale in 2021 by AAC. $1400–$1600.
