Welch, Spring & Co. “No. 4 Round Head Regulator”, ca. 1878. A 31-inch case veneered in rosewood with grain-painted bezels; most of the grain-painting is worn off. Both glasses are old/original,
the time dial holds old paint with some touch-up at the edges, the calendar dial is paper I believe. All hands are correct. The E.N. Welch 8-day, time-and-strike movement is running and striking, and the calendar is advancing. There is a good label
inside and a good label on the back of the calendar cover. There really isn’t anything to complain about with this clock. AAC sold a similar example last summer for $500. $450–$600.
