157.           $1500

Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Parlor Calendar No. 7”, 1883-1885. This model appeared in catalogs from 1883–1885 and then disappeared; there are no sales records for this model on LiveAuctioneers or on the Antique Clocks Identification and Price Guide.  Have you seen one before?  Neither have I.  The 29.25-inch walnut case is hand-carved with inset picket molding around the arched top.  The finish on this clock is perfect.  Both glasses are old, the dials likely repainted; the dial board is a replacement, the only apology I can find.  The signed 8-day, time-and-strike movement is running and striking on the brass bell, and the calendar is advancing.  There is a ‘do not oil’ label on the back wall and a manufacturer’s label on the back of the door.  As noted, no sales records for this rare clock.  $1500–$2500.
