E. Ingraham & Co. “Ingraham Calendar”, ca. 1882.  This is the only complex shelf calendar Ingraham made, using the same B.B. Lewis calendar mechanism used in their Ionic wall model. The shelf calendar was made from 1882 to 1900.  The walnut case is 22 inches tall with a clean polished finish.   I think the dial glass is an old replacement, the lower glass original.  The time dial is a modern matte finish dial, the hands are correct.  The calendar dial is painted with some ageing and slight discoloration.  The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed but obscured by the calendar wheel; the Lewis calendar cover is in place with a good label, including the Ingraham name. The inside bottom of the case has the maker’s name die-stamped.  The clock is running, striking, and the calendar hands are advancing. No labels.  Four sales this year on LiveAuctioneers, averaging $400.  $350–$450.
