Ansonia Clock Co. “Clayton”, ca. 1914.  A 10.5-inch tall by 16-inch wide cast iron mantel clock with a glossy finish and elephant heads on the sides.  I think the finish is original, as is the finish on the ornaments.  The paper dial shows light wear and ageing, is signed at the bottom, and sits behind a convex glass in an American sash.  The Ansonia movement runs 8 days, time and half-hour strike on a cathedral gong, and is running and striking.  $50–$150.
