144. $50
Ansonia Clock Co. “Brandon”, ca. 1904. An enameled cast
iron mantel clock notable for the buffalo heads on the sides. The finish on the 10.5-inch-tall by 16-inch-wide case is original,
in good condition; the ornaments may have been repainted, and would have been originally gilded. There is a paper dial with
the Ansonia name and logo, with some ageing; the hands are correct. The dial glass is flat in a simple sash. The 8-day,
time and half-hour strike movement runs briefly and probably just needs to be run in. It strikes on a cathedral gong. $50–$150.
