135.          $400

Ansonia Clock Co. “Pompeii”, ca. 1904.  This is the deluxe model with a visible escapement and a porcelain dial; the 11-inch iron case and ornaments were repainted some time ago, and there is some roughness in places.  The flat glass is beveled with some chips along the edge at the upper right.  The porcelain dial shows no damage, the hands are correct, and the pallets on the escapement are steel.  The Ansonia movement runs 8 days, striking on the hours and half-hours; it is running enthusiastically.  Tom Harris sold a Pompeii with a visible escapement in 2020 for $425.   $400–$500.
