118.           $250

Ansonia Clock Co. “No. 503”, ca. 1904.  One of half-a-dozen porcelain clocks that do not have names, just numbers.  This model is shown on page 630 of Ly’s book on Ansonia clocks. The case is 14.25 inches tall in white and light blue, with pink flowers all around.  The finish is good with light crazing on the front and slight discoloration.  The gilding shows light wear, there are no cracks, chips, or evident repairs.  The glass is beveled and the signed two-part dial shows no chips or hairlines; the hands are correct.  The pallets on the visible escapement are steel.  The signed  8-day, time and half-hour strike movement wants to run but keeps stalling out; a cleaning may be needed.  It strikes on a cathedral gong.  There is no back cover, but they can be purchased from TimeSavers. A pretty clock.  $250–$500.
