109.           $1000

Ansonia Clock Co. “Crystal Regulator No. 1”, ca. 1914. Ansonia made eight porcelain crystal regulator models; I have three models in this sale.  Each is fitted with an 8-day half-hour gong strike movement with a rack and snail strike and a visible escapement, here with ruby pallets.  The porcelain top and base are forest green with pink flowers and a cherub at the top front; the gilding is strong.  There are four beveled glasses and polished brass sides with rich gold ornaments; there is some oxidation to the brass.  The two-part dial is porcelain with the Ansonia logo in the middle, and proper hands.  It is running and striking vigorously.  Nothing not to like here.  These models routinely sell for $1000 and up in my hands and at major auction houses.  $1000–$1500.
