94.              $1200

Seth Thomas Clock Co. “Hecla”, ca. 1888. A 22.5-inch walnut case with a clean old finish, just the way you want it.  The door glass is original, with good stenciling. The dial may be an old repaint, with minor chipping at the bottom and proper hands.  The Seth Thomas movement strikes the quarter hours on two nickel bells (ding-dong), once, twice, thrice, and four times on the hour, and then counts the hours on a cathedral gong. It is running and striking perfectly and sounds great.  There is a damascened nickel pendulum bob and a dark label inside on the bottom.  Other than the chips on the dial this clock is perfect; one of the best shelf models ST made.  AAC sold one in 2022 for $1018 and it had a paper dial and some issues, and one in 2021 for $1350 that was near perfect as well.  $1200–$1500.
