89. $250
Chauncey Jerome oversized steeple with reversed
fusee, 1845–1853. A 22.5-inch case with good mahogany veneer and a polished finish. Both glasses are old, the lower glass
replaced and repainted. The dial holds the original paint with a faint Jerome signature and has been varnished. The 8-day,
time-and-strike movement is die-stamped and has a reverse-fusee arrangement, with wooden fusee spools on the winding arbors and a
spring and winding spool directly below the movement. These are probably not true fusees, as the taper is not correct. The clock is running and striking. There is a good blue label behind plastic on the back wall. This model is a bit easier
to find than the two previously listed models. $250–$500.
