68.             $800

Forestville Hardware & Clock Co. “Thirty Hour Time-piece” sub-miniature steeple, 1853–1855.  A very rare clock from a short-lived company presided over by J.C. Brown. The walnut and rosewood case is 12.5 inches tall with two period/original glasses; I think the dial has been repainted and antiqued, with the Forestville Hardware signature and proper period hands.  The finials on the door are likely original; the frosted tablet shows some soiling.  The 30-hour time-only, pinned movement is unsigned and running fabulously.  The label is in fair condition behind plastic, with a proper period pendulum bob.  AAC sold one in January of 2022 for $925.  $800–$1000.
