William S. Johnson
eight-day miniature OG, 1848-1849. The case is only 19.25 inches tall with an old, dark finish. It holds a signed Chauncey
Boardman 8-day, double-fusee, time-and-strike movement; I can find no other examples like this from Johnson or Boardman. Both
glasses are old, the tablet repainted. The wooden dial is clean with new hands. The clock cords wind on wooden fusees
with an 8-day spring behind each fusee; it is running and striking. The label lists 20 Courtlandt as the address, dating the
clock to 1848–49. A rare clock. $200–$400.
