Birge & Fuller
“Patent Brass Eight Day Clock”, 1844-1848. A 38.5-inch triple decker with three period glasses, two with excellently preserved
tablets. The gilding has been repainted and the columns as well; the gilded eagle splat is modern. The ball feet are correct,
as are the back feet. The wood dial shows some spotting but is clean, the hands are period and typical. The strap brass,
8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed and running, striking on a wire gong. There are two period iron weights and a very
good label inside. Looks good. $200–$350.
