209. $150
S. Marti clock with thermometer, ca. 1910. An ornately carved walnut
case with a dark stain, about 35 inches long. The convex porcelain dial is clean, with good numbering and no cracks. There
used to be a metal bezel with glass over the dial, but it has been replaced with a wooden ring and no glass. The mercury thermometer
appears to be porcelain, but I can’t be sure, and it may be a modern replacement. The unusual 8-day, round lever movement is
signed Samuel Marti, with a medal stamp of 1900; it runs and strikes on the hours and half-hours on a nickel bell. I can’t find
any comparable sales. $150-$500.
