63.              $750

Old Colony Clock Co. Five tube chiming hall clock, ca. 1930.  The OCCC was in Middlebury, Indiana, east of South Bend.  There is little information to be found on this manufacturer, other than the report that the owner “disappeared” in 1931 amid financial problems (The Goshen News).  The highly polished walnut case is 79 inches tall with beveled glasses all around.  The tip of the center finial is missing.  The brass and silvered dial and movement were made by Winterhalder & Hoffmeier in Germany, as noted on the dial; The moon dial is flaking but still acceptable.  The 8-day, time, strike and chime movement is running, although the chime is sticky and needs attention. There is a key to open the front and upper side doors.  Schmidt’s Antiques sold a similar example last fall for $800.  Delivery to the eastern half of the US for $500 or less, depending on distance.  $750-$1200.
