Ansonia Clock Co. “Sharp Gothic V.P.”, ca. 1914. A 20-inch case with rosewood and mahogany veneer and an old and thick finish.  The unusual finials are correct (see Ly, Ansonia Clocks & Watches page 441), the stenciled door glass is old, the new paper dial bears the Ansonia logo and manufacturer’s information at the bottom.  The hands are proper.  The 8-day, time and half-hour strike movement is signed and running, striking on the nickel bell; there is also an alarm that is connected but not tested.  The pendulum bob is as shown in the catalog illustration. A partial label on the back.  $50-$150.
