Antique American Clocks February 2023
AD-18. $50
Seth Thomas “Cottage K”, ca. 1865. This 9-inch-tall
cottage has rosewood veneer on the door and sides, with a walnut base. Both glasses are old, the dial repainted, with ST hands. The 30-hour time-and-strike movement is signed Plymouth while the label says Thomaston, indicating this clock was made around 1865;
the label is uncommon, protected behind plastic. It is running and striking vigorously, and there is an untested alarm movement
as well, with both movements striking on the iron bell. ST packed a lot of equipment into this small case. $50-$150.
