PT-10.            $100

E.N. Welch Mfg. Co. “Colby Wringer”, ca. 1883. A 24-inch walnut case with the original finish and many layers of polish and gunk.  The door glass is original, with losses to the gold stenciling; the painted dial is original, with a coating of varnish and touch-up to the numbering.  The hands are correct. The 8-day, time-and-strike movement is signed and running, striking on a wire gong.  There is an alarm which is hooked up, but untested.  Note the special Welch Colby Wringer sandwich glass pendulum; I believe these clocks were distributed by the Colby Wringer company when you bought a washing machine from them.  There is an illegible label on the back.  Ly devotes a full page to this clock in his book on Welch clocks (page 220).  Schmidt’s Antiques sold one in 2021 for $350, but it was refinished. $100-$200.
