Black Forest cuckoos, ca. 1900.  Two Black Forest cuckoo clocks with inlaid marquetry on the front.  Both are missing their crests, one is missing its drop finials, and one has a drop-finial missing its tip.  Both are 15 inches tall, with wooden pendulums and pinecone weights.  There is an American Cuckoo Clock Co. label on the back of one; on the front it is marked ‘Germany’.  Both are running, striking, and the original cuckoo birds are popping out and singing on the hours and half-hours.  The movements are pressed brass; the bellows on both have been replaced. Both clocks for one money.  $100–$250.
