S. Marti black marble mantel clock, ca. 1880. A 14-inch-tall, 30-lb Belgian slate mantel clock with an S. Marti pendule de Paris 8-day, time-and-strike movement that is running and striking.  The slate is without nicks or damage, the ornamentation on the front, including the carved slate columns, has been painted gold.  The dial glass is beveled, the porcelain dial without damage.  $100-$200.
